Test drove a civic

I went and test drove a newish (’07) Honda Civic today. Unfortunately it was not nearly as fun to drive as my STOLEN 98 Civic… so it may be that my very STOLEN Civic will be the last Civic I ever own. *sigh*

Okay… I’m open to suggestions again. I want a car that’s reasonably small, FUN to drive (manual), and NOT obnoxiously sporty.

  2. Have you looked at the Ford Focus? My dad has an 01 Focus ZX3 (the sporty hatchback) and really enjoys it. It might not be a race-tuned BMW 3 series but it makes it exciting driving around Oregon!

I drive a Toyota Echo and love it. 9 years old and getting 40mpg, super reliable. Unfortunately they don’t make it anymore, so you would have to get a 2nd hand.
    I’d also look at
    - a 2003-05 jetta or passat (the new ones are lame),
    - a Toyota Corolla (I’m not a big fan of Yaris, because a bicycle doesn’t fit, and it doesn’t have a lot of acceleration, which sucks for highway)

    Hope this helps….

You could go with a ~2000 era acura integra.
For a bit more stealth you could go with a 5-cyl acura vigor. It looks normal, but quite zippy. You may have a problem finding a manual.
Or a ~2000 saab 9-3 with manual transmission would get you around quite nicely.
mid 90’s BMW 325’s are inexpensive now. Stay newer than 1995 though.
    Food for thought. Good luck.
