Actually, checking out your userinfo, it looks like you've joined successfully. Perhaps I was too late in my reply to you!

First of all, welcome welcome!

You gain posting access just by joining the community. In the userinfo at the top of the community it says "To join this community, click here." with the 'click here' as a link.

Be sure to do that; just adding the community to your friends list isn't enough.

Once that's done, synaesthesis will become available as a journal for your account to post to.

Also, Livejournal's FAQ section on communities has a lot more detailed instruction. (here's a link: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqcat=community)

Does this help?

Hello :) I just joined that synesthesia community that you have; I'm wondering how I become a member/get granted posting access.

That sounds really really interesting. But, how is it different from mudding with prize-incentives? I'm reading about what IF is, and such. The interface is a prompt and you respond to things and give commands right?

Is it literary in some way? How are the stories themselves written? I'll definitely give it a try though. it sounds cool.

This may open a new can of worms, but recently I've been getting in interactive fiction. Essentially a text adventure. I've been slowly going through the Interactive Fiction competition archives, playing the best. So far it's been Slouching Towards Bedlam and Blue Chairs. Both really mess with the reader's (yours) notion of where story, game, and reality start and end.

p.s. IF is also a nice way to look productive at work, as it just appears as a big blob of text and a command line.
