					<description>just sign up for a listserv that discusses whatever techology you use most. it sounds like PHP may be a good one for you, since you mentioned it.  i know there are a few PHP lists out there.  

also www.whatis.com may be a good place to look up techie definitions, and help you figure out what's called what.

for more broard terminology (not specific to web pages, but in general design, architecture, etc), to know what "everyone" calls those things, look up any "intro to UML" book for a good starting place.

I have to wonder if it's a socialized behaviour to some degree.  Even if his wife is a feminist, he is probably behaving in a pattern that he's been using since he was really young, and thus hard to shake without lots of conscious effort to change it.  Not that I'm making excuses for it.</description>
